Despite my confusion with the time traveling and keeping track of all the characters, I enjoyed the final installment to The Five Kingdoms. It was a fun series to read and I am a little sad it is over, but now this gives Brandon Mull more time to continue the Dragonwatch series!

*I've only read this once. I don't think I will ever understand this re-reading feature.

This was probably my favorite book in the series. The author did a good job at tying ends together. Cole had to make a lot of tough choices like we all have to do at times. I really liked new characters that were introduced. I like the theme that there can be hope even in the darkest of times.

This book is brilliant! We follow Cole as he tries to defeat an enemy who threatens the Outskirts while finding his friends who've been kidnapped and a way home. Brandon Mull is a genius with words, and messing with people's minds, especially mine! For any of you who like middle-grade fantasy reads, you'll be sure to enjoy this!

It was definitely better than Death Weavers, but still wasn't Mull's best book. The climax was not nearly as dramatic as it should've been, too many excuses made for Cole to be the one to do ANYTHING important, it felt too rushed, and finally, the ending left me just... "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME BRANDON MULL!!" I still loved the book though, it made everything seem hopeless and then good triumphed, it's just not Mull's best.

This was a good solid finish to the series. I don’t reread when the next book comes out, so I’m sure I didn’t catch as much as someone who takes the time to refresh. It might have been because of that that the first third wasn’t as interesting to me. Or because I only read short chunks at a time until I was captive on a long flight. It got better after that. :)

This is a 4/5 stars for the genre. Not books in general. ;) Brandon Mull is somewhat predictable to me, but I love what he contributes to

i really liked this book and the plot. i felt as if this book moved at an extremely fast pace and how Cole could energize Violet, a Wayminder, (a Wayminder can open wayports to other places and if you go through the wayport, you end up at that place) so that she could open many wayports after a short period of time with no rest. it kinda felt like this was used as a crutch to let them go to different places really quickly because they had to do it a lot, but like i said right before lmao they di ...more
